Lynn Becker has been a reader and creator all her life. After spending many years in the Southern California desert with her husband, children, cats, dog, and lots and lots of chickens, she now lives in Colorado, where she writes picture books and children’s book reviews. The chickens stayed behind, but a few mythical beasties may have followed her to her new home…!

Her debut picture book, MONSTERS IN THE BRINY, illustrated by Scott Brundage (Sleeping Bear Press), has been named a Bank Street College Best Children’s Book of 2022. JUNE MOON, illustrated by Nate Carvalho (Familius), comes out in 2024.

Julie Danneberg

Julie Danneberg had a long career as an elementary SPED teacher and later, taught middle school Language Arts. Reading to her students inspired her to begin writing, and being around kids all day gave her LOTS of ideas! Sometimes she even asked her students to read her stories and give suggestions for improvement. She's written both fiction and nonfiction picture books, chapter books and books for the educational market. Her classroom experience informed her writing, and her writing informed her teaching. She feels lucky to have spent time in both worlds.

Megan E. Freeman

Megan E. Freeman attended an elementary school where poets visited her classroom every week to teach poetry, and she has been a writer ever since. Her debut middle-grade novel, Alone, won the Colorado Book Award, the High Plains Book Award, was an NCTE Notable Verse Novel and a Goodreads Choice Award finalist, and is included on over a dozen "best of" and state reading lists. Megan is also a Pushcart Prize-nominated poet and the author of the poetry chapbook, Lessons on Sleeping Alone. She lives in northern Colorado.

Nicole Magistro is a professional reader and amateur mother who lives in the mountains of Colorado. She owned a bookstore for 15 years, wrote thousands of book reviews, and memorized a few too many bedtime stories. Her favorite place in the world is the real Read Island, which inspired her debut picture book. As an author, Magistro is the winner of the Colorado Book Award, SCBWI Spark Honor, and a finalist Reading the West Book Award. She has spoken to students in CO, MI, OH, and UT.
